ABOUT US
Welcome to Bankstown Liquor Accord
The Bankstown Liquor Accord is a local voluntary liquor partnership which aims to work with local communities to: * Minimise harm associated with alcohol consumption * Improve safety and amenities in local facilities * Reduce alcohol related violence and anti-social behaviour.
Liquor Accords are a pro-active means of creating safer neighbourhoods without the need to resort to regulation, enforcement action and ultimately court sanctions after problems have occurred. It is based on harm minimisation and the Responsible Service of Alcohol principles contained within the liquor laws. Whilst the Liquor Accord places particular emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of local licensees, it is supported by the complimentary actions of: Canterbury Bankstown City Council, NSW Police, Liquor and Racing.
It also focuses on patrons and their responsibilities regarding the consumption of alcohol and in improving public safety. All parties undertake the principles to improve the safety and environment in the Bankstown local government area.
